YEAR 2003 APRIL - JULY Ekaterinburg (Russia) / Vigevano (Italy)
Fioravanti is charged to follow the logistic operations relevant to the replacement of turbines at the Enel Hydroelectric Plant in Vigevano (Italy).The old turbines date back to year 1913.
In details Fioravanti carries out at the shipper’s plant in Ekaterinburg, the packing conformity check and the shipping documents arrangement. In Italy Fioravanti carries out the transport feasibility check. These operations refer to to the state of the small roads of access to the Hydroelectric Plant, the capacity of two small bridges and the the capacity (25 tons only) of the area in front of the Plant under which the water pipes are located. Finally how unload the turbines and place them inside the Plant.
The turbines (dimensions cm. 430 length, cm 295 widht, cm 320 height and weight kgs 29000) are loaded on a rail wagon at the railway station of Swerdlosk, close to Ekaterinburg. The first transport section is by rail and covers km 3700 up to Klaipeda in Lithuania. At Klaipeda the wagon is loaded on a ferry boat to Sassnitz (Germany). The german agent carries out the transit customs formalities and the turbines reload on truck. The last transport section, from Sassnitz up to the Hydroelectric Plant in Vigevano, is effected by truck. The loads are out of gauge because of the width, height and weight. The trucks go through the Customs office in Vipiteno/Sterzing for the Italian import customs formalities.
The Hydroelectric Plant powered by the new turbines will start again its activities in November 2003.
YEAR 2003 AGOUST Port Moresby
Fioravanti, the Italian member of the WWPC (World Wide Project Consortium), is charged with arranging a shipment of cbm 110 – tons 250 to Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. The goods are intended for a new oil refinery construction of which WWPC handles the worldwide logistics.
Fioravanti is responsible for:
- Loading operations at the shipper’s facilities (renting suitable cranes)
- Inland transportation up to Genoa seaport (some of the loads were out of gauge and required escort vehicles)
- Export customs formalities
- Loading, stowing and lashing operations on board the vessel
- And for the relations with the Shipowner, Rickmers-Linie.
The shipment, sailed July 24th 2003 on board of Rickmers Tokyo vessel, was discharged at Singapore port on August 14th 2003 by the WWPC local Agent and re-loaded on the vessel AAL to Port Moresby. The WWPC office at Port Moresby followed the discharging operations, the import customs formalities and the delivery of all the shipment to the site under construction.
