YEAR 2001 -The Columbian Andes
In March 2001 Fioravanti obtains an important job: the transport of a complicated printing machinery addressed to Medellin, in the heart of the Columbian Andes. The shipment delivery term was DDP - delivery duty paid. Fioravanti had to lay out the duty fees, import tax and any other local fees on behalf of its own Italian customer. Fioravanti picked-up all the goods at the shipper's facilities and calculated it required the following containerization: the shipment needed 5 x 40ft Open top containers (two of them out of gauge), 1 x 20ft Open Top container in gauge and 3 x 40ft Flat Racks where they loaded 3 cases, each of cm 720 long, cm 300 wide and cm 280 high. The containers were sailed to the Columbian seaport of Cartagena, where the Fioravanti's local agent was ready to receive them. |
